Here, we have an honest and heartfelt appreciation for the history of Medieval Europe, for the reality that underlies and enriches our fantasy. Therefore, besides art and role playing, magic and adventure, Medievalry is dedicated to the true lives of those people who lived a thousand years ago. The Middle Ages were a fascinating time of change and evolution, not the stagnate period of anti-wisdom so commonly portrayed in modern culture. Indeed, the nay-saying is mainly due to the people of the Renaissance, who wanted to make their "revolution" seem more significant by belittling and ignoring the prior era. Here, we seek to expose these myths, to overturn modern misconceptions, and to illuminate the real Middle Ages. |
